Based on the unique needs of each community served, these hospitals offer a wide range of diagnostic, medical and surgical services in inpatient and outpatient settings.The Vice President of Business Development works within the assigned CHS Operating Division and is responsible for supporting Division and affiliated hospital leaders in market development, service line strategies, and physician and partner alignment initiatives that produce volume growth and improve market share in the communities where we operate., * Collaborates with Division and hospital leaders to identify and pursue strategic growth opportunities in areas such as service line development, network integration, joint ventures, access point development, expansion of acute care and outpatient healthcare services, coordinated care networks, medical staff development and physician alignment. * Studies internal and external data sources to analyze market opportunities, trends and competitive dynamics in order to identify and implement short and long term strategies in response to market needs and demands. * Works with operational and financial leaders to ensure accurate forecasting, proforma modeling, goal setting and measurement metrics for key business development initiatives. * Coordinates with corporate subject matter experts in areas such as strategic planning, managed care, service line development, acquisitions, provider outreach and physician practice services to drive improved planning and performance. * Oversees and/or collaborates with other leaders to evaluate and facilitate activities necessary to implement strategic initiatives, including capital investments, equipment, personnel, etc. * Drives execution of business development strategies by working closely with Division and hospital leaders, engaging physicians and other partners, and providing expert advice to gain consensus and keep key projects on track, meet deadlines and ensure completion. * Troubleshoots through obstacles to remove barriers to successful deployment of business development initiatives. * Motivates other team members to help achieve business development and growth goals. * Monitors and measures success of strategic initiatives, including tracking volume, market share, quality/clinical outcomes, costs and other operational and financial performance metrics. * Generates innovative and forward-looking business strategies to advance market competitiveness and contribute to overall success.* Experienced and adept in leading strategies that facilitate growth in competitive market environments with a track record of previous accomplishments. * Able to lead projects and teams, build trust and influence others, manage complex strategies, solve problems, and work collaboratively with internal and external partners in a matrixed health care delivery system. * Extremely organized and able to multi-task without losing focus. * Demonstrates critical and good judgment and is able to take decisive action with a strong bias toward successful execution. * Communicates effectively to gain consensus on goals and to keep others clearly focused on key activities. * Provides multi-dimensional thought leadership with the capacity to think, plan and act strategically, without being locked into traditional models of health care delivery. Qualifications EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree required MHA, MBA or related Master's Degree highly preferred 10+ years acute care hospital experience required, with operational leadership experience preferred Proven experience in planning and executing healthcare growth strategies that produce volume, market stabilization/growth and positive net revenue and EBITDA Experience in supporting change management and motivating others Record of working successfully in a matrix environment
