If you answered "yes' then Sequel Youth and Family Services may have the perfect job for you Part-time Substitute Teachers Needed Program Overview: Located approximately 30 miles west of Knoxville, TN, Kingston Academy is a 52-bed coed Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) helping children between the ages of 5 to 17. Both our Residential and Educational programs are licensed and accredited by Joint Commission (JCAHO), as well as Department of Mental Health and Disability services. Kingston Academy not only serves children from Tennessee, but also children from Nevada, Kentucky, Arkansas, West Virginia and North Carolina. We focus on behavioral change through the power of choice. Staff builds strong relationships with students to help them understand the choices that they have. This method with structure and consistency allows trust to grow between our students and staff. Students play such an important role to our structure that they participate in our staff orientation, trainings and campus government. Programs offered include: Long-term residential treatment for boys and girls ages 5 to 17 years old Therapeutic Day school Intensive Day Treatment Job Overview: Instructs students in academic subjects and social interaction skills when teacher is absent. Follow planned curriculum and lessons and other instructional materials to meet the needs of each individual student that include physical, emotional, and educational levels of development. Promote educational learning through the use of creative learning activities. Confers with administrators, testing specialists, social workers with any concerns during the time the teacher is absent. Duties Include: Implement effective lesson plans left by the teacher in a variety of subject areas Provide quality classroom management Communicate and exchange information with all members of the education department Provide appropriate supervision for students Complete necessary paperwork Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Education Special Education certification preferred Must be at least 21 years of age. Good verbal and writing skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information. Must consistently exhibit mental and emotional ability to understand and perform the essential functions of the job. Mental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position. Prefer at least one year of experience working with at risk youth Work Schedule PRN, Monday - Friday
